Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
[Believers will face affliction, death and hatred for the sake of their faith in the name of their Lord Jesus Christ. Life in Christ will not be a bed of roses. If a person is recognized and loved by the world-at-large, he might not be a disciple of Christ!
Luke also adds a bit here about this persecution that the disciples of Jesus will face. But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. And it shall turn to you for a testimony. Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.-Luke 21:12-15. This situation is well fitting the horseman on the white horse of Revelation six when the Lamb opened the first seal. He that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. -Rev 6:2. The evangelists that had the gospel of Salvation have set out to act on the mandate given by their Lord. They have been conquering the souls from the kingdom of darkness in huge numbers because the devil that had been deceiving the world with his lie has been cast into the bottomless pit, shut up there and set a seal upon him. He cannot deceive them anymore. They will continue to conquer until the time when Satan must be let out 'a little season'. During the time of the conquest (a thousand years is a long period, not a literal 1000), the Lord will give them the arrows for the bows that they already have. Their quiver is hidden from the sight of the adversaries. It will be the 'arrow for the occasion' which the accusers cannot gainsay or resist.]
And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. -Luke 21:16-17. Even the family might have members who do not agree with the believer's sanctified lifestyle.]
And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
[Offence, betrayal and hatred will also be the norm among the ungodly. This is directly in contrast to the love-based life that the Bible requires of mankind.]
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
[The Bible speaks about the false prophets in plural. They are the second beast of Revelation thirteen. (According to Daniel, each beast is a kingdom). These are the ones that bid mankind to bow to the first beast - the anti-christian kingdom. The false prophets are seemingly innocent like a lamb but speak like the dragon (Satan). They will make fire come down from heaven (the sky) on the earth and perform many miracles in the sight of the Antichrists. Visualize the first beast as modern-day Israel and the second as modern-day USA. The Air-borne rocket bombs that brought an end to the second world war and the subsequent star wars program are of the US but the brain behind these are the Jews. The technology of today is predominantly the inventions of the Jews - seemingly benevolent but can be (and are) abused to bring about an abrupt end to civilization on this earth]
And because iniquity shall abound the love of many shall wax cold.
[Genuine love is the rarest thing on earth today. Men are lovers of pleasure and lovers of self. Natural love has lost its place on this planet. Parents murder children and vice versa. A little less than five hundred thousand people are murdered every year.]
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
[Enduring faith is also loyalty. Holding on to the Lord is the key. Only such believers will be saved. But, there will be many who will commit apostasy in the last days. They will turn back to the world because of the attraction of the riches, comforts and luxury that the world offers to those who bow to Satan and fall at his feet. Many 'Christians' would want to 'keep up with the Joneses' and turn their backs to their Savior.]
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations;
[With the reach of the modern electronic media, we can say that there is not a place in the world that the gospel of Jesus Christ has not reached. There have been millions of evangelists who have dared their lives to carry the good news of Jesus Christ to the nook and corners of the world. Even in 2018 an American evangelist John Allen Chau was killed by the Sentinelese of the Nicobar islands of India when he attempted to take the gospel to these tribal people.]
And then shall the end come. -Matt 24:4-14
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso reads, let him understand:)
[The abomination of desolation that prophet Daniel speaks about is the Al Aqsa mosque (that glorifies the Islamic God (mentioned in Isaiah 14:13 ascend - alah in Hebrew) and their prophet) that was built on a wing of the Jewish Temple of Jesus's days that contained the holy place. And the abomination of desolation will be on a wing of the temple. -Dan 9:27 (HCSB). The second most 'sacred' place for the Islamists was built around 688 AD. (1260 years from 688 AD is 1948 - the year of birth of new Israel. 1260 is the number of (days) years that the believing line (the woman of Revelation chapter twelve) was sheltered in the wilderness. The dragon has been let loose after 1948 for a little season to gather Gog and Magog from the four corners of the world against the Lord as per Revelation twenty.]
Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains:
Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
[Judea and Jerusalem would be dreaded places and an epicenter for all problems on earth. Islamists would start dominating the world by their conquests 'by the edge of the sword'. The original Palestine of Jesus's time would be the most insecure place for human habitation. Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. -Luke 21:24. The 'time of the gentiles' is the time from 688 AD to 1948 AD when the Islamists held control of Jerusalem. From then on it has been the 'time of the end' of Daniel chapters eleven and twelve.]
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
[Believers will go through a great tribulation. This is emphatically stated in many places in the New Testament. While Christians have always faced tribulation ever since the Church as established on the day of Pentecost, this is 'great' tribulation. This started from 1948. Unitl then, people were saved in huge clusters all over the world. The numbers have dwindled and pace of evangelism has slowed down drastically. Catastrophes have had a cascading effect in every sphere of life. Natural as well as man-made disasters have been occurring more frequently like the birth pangs of a laboring woman. Pandemics have broken out sporadically in various parts of the world. Survival has been a challenge in the midst of this 'Jacob's trouble' of Jer 30:7]
And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
["But he (Jacob) shall be saved out of it" , -Jer 30:7, says the Lord. The elect are God's people. They are the believers who endure this great tribulation. The Lord will protect them as He did the people of Israel in Goshen, the Hebrew colony in Egypt during Moses's time. God will deliver His people from the 'wrath to come' of 1 Thes 1:10; 1 Thes 2;16; Rev 6:17; Rev 11:18]
Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
For there shall arise false christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
[The deception unfurled by the false christs and false prophets will be manifold during the great tribulation. People of the world will be desperate and will run berserk searching for peace. The solutions implemented by the governments of the world backed by Jewish money and technology might work like wonders and will tend to fool even the true believers in Christ. (Take note all the money in the world is in the hands of the Jews and more Jews have been Nobel Laureates in recognition for their technological inventions than any other people in the world). However, these solutions will be only short-lived, ad hoc and deceptive.]
